A Year of Family Photos

Last year I asked a family if I could come and photograph their life once a month, every month, for the entire year.

I asked this particular family for several reasons, not the least of which was that they are all incredible humans.

They amazingly said “yes.”

Each session was about an hour in length. Sometimes we stayed home. Sometimes we went on adventures.

As a photographer and a human being, working with this family on a regular basis was SO DANG REWARDING. For a short time each month I felt like an honorary family member.

When we started, this little person was barely walking and talking. Each month there were new milestones, new phases, new preferences and so much learning. I was consistently reminded of how toddlers are sponges.

By our last month together, there was not only walking and talking. There was running, jumping, dancing, twirling, conversations, problem-solving and so much more.

And there were dogs. Man, I loved those dogs.

I’m so grateful for the time I spent with this remarkable family. I would gush on and on about them, but I don’t want to make them blush.

This little project was a trial run for a new photography offering. I’m happy to present to you. . .drumroll. . .A Year in the Life.
